GS Yuasa has announced plans to increase its price for lead-acid automotive batteries from 1 May 2014.
The move is a result of high lead prices and rising costs of other materials and components in the manufacturing process including oil. The depreciating Yuan has worsened the situation to cause market conditions which the company believes will persist.
Prices will be raised by a minimum of 10% on existing GS Yuasa shipment prices for all models of automotive lead-acid storage batteries.
Despite managerial restructuring the company has been unable to absorb the rising costs of raw material and so has had to raise prices.
