Michigan-based battery manufacturer Advanced Batteries Concepts (ABC) has won global recognition for its sealed lead-acid GreenSeal® technology.
The U.S. firm’s battery – available from 2v to 200v – won the ‘New High Value and Disruptive Technology Innovations’ category at the Global Automotive Innovation Challenge ceremony.
Other winners included Chicago-based lithium-ion battery developer SiNode Systems, who took the ‘Vehicle electrification, V2X and advanced mobility’ category.
The companies will each receive $50,000 worth of business commercialisation acceleration services and cash.
ABC’s GreenSeal® technology is used to improve large‐format, energy storage technology.
ABC began commercial production of the world’s first large-format, bipolar, sealed AGM, valve-regulated lead-acid battery in September last year.
