Lead-acid firm Hammond Group has named Gordon Beckley as its new vice president and chief technical officer.
Beckley will be responsible for all R&D efforts headquartered at the US firm’s state-of-the-art lead-acid battery laboratory in Hammond, Indiana.
He will report directly to the company’s president and CEO Terence Murphy.
Murphy said: “We have made revolutionary breakthroughs in Pb-A battery charge acceptance with our K2 Expanders and have committed significant investments to serve the current and emerging requirements of our battery customers.
“Gordon’s first-hand knowledge and experience in tailoring customer-specific solutions will allow us to better serve our industry in competition with lithium-Ion for micro-hybrid vehicle and energy storage markets.”
Its newest K2 Peak Performance Expander line is designed to extend battery life in High Rate Partial State of Charge operations, including Idle Stop-Start and Micro-Hybrid automotive applications.
