MAC Engineering welcomes lead-acid battery equipment expert Jimmy Stewart (formerly of Exide Technologies) as vice president of sales and marketing.
Stewart will be responsible for communicating with customers in the US and Canada in relation to sales, service and support. He will also support global agents, Sorfin Yoshimura, and all of their customers throughout the rest of the world.
Stewart told BEST: “I have been a customer of MAC for most of those years so I know I can stand behind the MAC product line. With this experience and knowing the competition this opportunity makes a perfect fit. My goals are to work with the customer and MAC to move into the next generation of products that the manufacturers can use to produce cost-effective, higher-quality batteries to stay competitive in the lead-acid business while lithium is nipping at the heels.”
Stewart was at Exide for 45 years, rising from assembly line technical assistant to senior director of global equipment, facility and tooling engineering.
In the latest position at Exide, he purchased and led the installation of $60 million of equipment for OEM and military batteries, in two industrial battery production facilities, and led the installation of $35 million of equipment for round cell production in an automotive facility.
