C&D Technologies has brought out a new high temperature valve regulated lead–acid (VRLA) telecom battery.
The TEL-HT VRLA battery includes C&D’s MSE Pure Lead technology. That requires lower float currents, which it claimed slows grid corrosion and limits water loss by 50%. That means the batteries can operate safely at higher temperatures.
It also contributes to an extended design life of 10+ years, more than twice that of conventional VRLA batteries, it said. The two-year storage life is claimed to be twice as long as other VRLA batteries.
The battery can operate at a wide temperature range of -40° to 71°C (-40° to 160°F) making it suitable for operations in harsh climates.
The battery is compliant with the UL1989 standard, while the polypropylene case and cover meet the UL94-V0 standard.
