German company Saueressig is set to unveil its mobile laboratory calendar line aims to boost lithium-ion battery performance.
Using a patented gap control system, the calender fulfills industrial scale compressing line requirements for battery or capacitors –electrode.
The gap control system helps boost battery performance by keeping the roller gap constant while loading to ensure consistently coated electrodes.
The new machine can handle intermittent or continuous coating for lithium-ion electrode tapes, and dry-film generation from a powder material.
Lab-line is designed to complete roller gap deviations of ±1 µm and compress electrode tapes up to a width of 1,000 mm with a speed of 35 m/min with tolerances of ±2 µm.
It is also deigned to amount the full load of about 15 tons. This can be calculated to the gap loadings at different material widths.
Built on a workshop trolley, it can be used vertically and horizontally for the processing of dry films.
The calendar will be unveiled in September.
