Sovema owned SoLith’s will supply its advanced lithium-ion battery formation, test and aging systems to newcomer Alevo’s 16-Giga hour factory.
Alevo plans to manufacturer its Gridbank battery energy storage systems in the North Carolina plant.
Jennifer Place, Alevo’s director of purchasing, said: “Highly reliable, accurate, cost-effective, and flexible Formation & Test systems are critical for assuring performance, durability, and safety in our advanced battery systems.
“We chose the SoLith team to develop and install a system that meets our high technical standards, as well as our plan for rapid growth in the booming stored grid energy market.”
The SoLith energy-saving, custom-design system includes integrated data collection and cell and module handling.
Alevo’s Gridbank uses a utility-grade battery, based on novel 3rd generation lithium-ion technology enabled by inorganic electrolyte chemistry. It can store energy from wind, solar and conventional power plants.
SoLith’s Lithium-ion Battery Production Automation team has more than 15 years of experience in design of, winding systems, stacking systems, lamination, electrode punching, tab welding, pouch forming, as well as formation and test.
