Sleep deprivation was not the only reason why Editor Gerry Woolf returned from the Electrical Energy Storage and Applications Technologies (EESAT) conference in San Francisco a little depressed and disappointed.
Here's a lesson for conference attendees: if you're going to book late for a conference, ensure that there are no other major events going on in the same city.
This comes from a bitter experience. When yours truly was attending the Electricity Storage Association's EESAT meeting in San Francisco last October, it coincided with a meeting of the American Surgeons Association (and their shopaholic wives).
