Sunlight Group of Greece has completed full acquisition of its 51%-owned subsidiary, Triathlon GmbH. Sunlight took the 51% stake, agreed in December 2022.
Sunlight will incorporate Triathlon – which operates in industrial energy storage with business in over 95 countries – under a single management team. Financial details were not disclosed.
Founder and managing director of Triathlon, Martin Hartmann, becomes a minority shareholder of Sunlight and joins the board of directors. He becomes new chief commercial officer for industrial mobility, reporting directly to Lampros Bisalas, Sunlight’s CEO.
Bisalas said: “I’m thrilled that a collaboration going back 20+ years is concluded in the best possible way. Martin’s wealth of experience in our sector, and indeed in markets very important for us, is priceless.”
Sunlight said it will pursue global leadership and focus on the European and US markets. It will continue to build in the lead-acid and lithium-ion battery segments. It is planning a 20GWh gigafactory in Europe producing lithium-ion battery cells for the industrial mobility and energy storage systems sectors.
