Greek Systems Sunlight has secured a deal to supply lead-acid batteries to Delhaize Serbia, a leading food retailer.
The new project, with a budget of more than €1million (more than US$1.1million) is to supply forklift batteries in Delhaize’s Logistics Centre in Serbia.
Under the deal Sunlight will design and install fully equipped charging rooms, supply 550 PzS lead-acid vented batteries equipped with battery monitoring systems (BMS), 240 High frequency chargers, as well as aqua-filling and air-lift systems.
Panos Germanos owned Sunlight secured the deal using its strategic partnership with Philadelphia Scientific, which has expertise in peripheral motive power battery systems on a global level.
The first, and largest, phase of the project has been implemented, while the remaining phases will be delivered gradually over the next two years.
Sunlight’s motive power batteries are designed by the company’s R&D Department and produced exclusively at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Northern Greece (Xanthi).
Last month Sunlight Systems completed a project in Dubai international airport to supply the airport with Valve Regulated Lead-Acid absorbant glass matt (VRLA AGM) batteries for the airport’s Uninterupted Power Supply System (UPS).
The deal, worth €1miilion ($1.33million), is the latest partnership with the airport, which it has supplied with more than 43,000 batteries, worth around €4million ($4.5million) since 2006.
