UK engineering company TBS Engineering announced two strategic tie-ups with European lead-acid battery companies.
It is partnering with H&T Produktions Technologie of Germany and Pinco of Switzerland. TBS said its lead-acid battery manufacturing equipment, aftermarket, and services will combine with H&T’s “highly innovative and leading edge” ServoSpindlePress technology to develop a new, high quality, efficient and sustainable line of TBS-branded punched grid equipment.
According to H&T, ServoSpindlePresses are driven by high-precision servo-axes. Their design type and specific sensors, and controlling functions, make them the most precise and dynamic presses on the market.
Richard Taylor, managing director of TBS Engineering, said the partnership will enable long-term battery and energy improvement and drive market growth in lead-acid technology.
“Given the rapid advancement in electrode plate design, formulation and structure, a more precise and dynamic press technology is required, which is why we have aligned with H&T and their ServoSpindlePress technology,” he said.
He added that H&T’s technology will mean optimised plate geometry, sustainable energy management and less waste. That will lower production costs and improve plate performance.
The combination with Pinco brings together TBS’s new line of drying equipment with Pinco’s drying and curing technology, which Taylor said provides “the best temperature and humidity control parameters in the market.”
