Since the last article, there have been a couple of setbacks with the reliability of the β prototype formation unit, but the silver lining here is that these setbacks have been offset by a major operational advance and two improvements to the measurement capabilities. The reliability setbacks were a weakness in the modulation circuit which was not designed for long periods of constant current charging, and the inaccuracies in recording voltage and current in the charging and discharging phases of the connected battery circuit.
