Sample lithium-ion batteries to test suitability of graphite from Canadian mine

Mon, 02/08/2021 - 12:08 -- Paul Crompton

Canadian battery materials firm GoldCore Resources has contracted ProGraphite to manufacture sample lithium-ion batteries using graphite from its Quebec deposit.

The deal follows samples from the mine— previously known as Lac Gueret South Project— being sent to the German graphite and carbon specialist.

The test results showed the samples were purified to 99.95% using a alkaline process instead of hydrofluoric acid, which is les environmentally friendly.
